Join us for Artwalk on Friday September 25 featuring photography by Alper Unger and happy hour in which we offer a complementary cheese plate with your purchase of a bottle of wine or a couple of beers. We’re also thrilled to feature live music by Seventh Terrace from 7 – 9 pm.
Alper Unger’s bio follows:
Alper Üngör is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and an Adjunct Professor of Dance at the University of Florida. He holds a PhD degree (2002) in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MBA degree (1998) from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, an MS degree (1996) in Computer Science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BS degree (1992) in Computer Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. Alper joined the University of Florida in 2004, after spending two years at Duke University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. He received the David Kuck Best Ph.D. Thesis Award (2002), the Dave and Jane Liu Award (2001), and an Excellence in Teaching Award (1997) at the University of Illinois. He is also a recipient of the prestigious CAREER award from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Alper is an avid dancer, traveller, and photographer.
There will also be a musical performance by the new and talented jazz/pop trio, 7th Terrace (Denise Burnsed – bass, Cindy Mueller – piano/vocals, and Shireen Taha – alto saxophone).
